ISC26 changes venue to REBEL Oslo

The team behind International Sauna Congress 2026 has had to make a difficult decision. SALT, the venue for ISC26, was temporarily closed earlier this summer and unfortunately, the reopening has not gone as planned.

We have therefore had to change the venue of ISC26.

This saddens us. SALT is a special place where we could offer a unique combination of congress program and sauna experiences by the sea in the center of Oslo. But we had come to a point where we had to make sure the congress could go ahead as planned, and that meant moving it.

The new location is REBEL Oslo, a great event space in the center of Oslo, which fulfils all the requirements of a large and complex event like ours.

Rebel’s address is Universitetsgata 2 in Oslo, and the entrance is on the corner of Universitetsgata and Pilestredet, next to the original Fuglen, which this summer was named “The World’s Best Coffee Shop” by Monocle Magazine.

What does this mean for ISC26 participants?

For the congress program at ISC26, relocating to Rebel actually doesn’t change much. The rooms will be different, but the setup will be the same. If we need to make any adjustments to the program or scheduling, they will be small and you will be informed.

The venue change does not affect the opening program on Thursday, September 24th. We still encourage you to be at Oslo City Hall by 13:00 to clear check-in and security in time for the start of the program. Please make sure to bring as little luggage as possible, as there is no storage. We suggest you arrive with a full stomach, as the finger food served at the reception at 16:00 is not a full meal. At The Well, the restaurant will be open through the evening.

What will now happen to the sauna experiences at ISC26?

ISC26 won’t be exactly what we planned it to be. But we believe that it will be just as good. The Norwegian Sauna Society and our members, friends and partners in Oslo are working hard to finalize the details of great sauna experiences before and after the congress program on Friday and Saturday – and are confident that all participants will leave Oslo with smiles on their faces, lots of new friends and contacts, and a few liters of sweat less than when they arrived.

• There will still be a grand opening at Oslo City Hall, with an impressive and interesting program, where the Mayor of Oslo herself will serve all of you bubbles and canapés.

• There will still be an opening night at The Well, where you can enjoy the largest spa in the Nordics together with the best sauna people in the world, while enjoying some world-class entertainment.

• There will still be the best and most extensive sauna congress program ever held, with speakers from different sauna cultures, companies and academic disciplines.

• There will still be Floating Sauna Night on Friday night, where you can visit the reasons why Oslo is called “The Floating Sauna Capital of the World.”

• There will still be a Badstufest closing party on Saturday night – though in a slightly different format.

• You’ll still be surrounded by the best sauna people in the world. And by the way, the congress is now sold out.

• Oslo will still be Oslo.
