Sauna Channel at ISC26: three films and a world premiere
Sauna Channel, our congress and streaming partner, has spent years documenting sauna and bathing culture around the world. At ISC26 they bring three of those films to the big screen, and one of them has never been shown to anyone.
Getting to share these films with the delegates, together with the people who made them, is something we have looked forward to for a long time.
Fire Between the Fjords — Norway's Sauna Revival (World Premiere)
21 minutes.
Norway once had a living badstue tradition and nearly let it disappear. Fire Between the Fjords follows the way back, from driftwood left floating in the fjord and built into the first floating sauna, to the architect-drawn creations along the water that turned a city into what it now calls the Floating Sauna Capital of the World. The builders, bathers and communities tell the story themselves.
The premiere is on Friday, and we are treating it as one: refreshments, and a few words from Sauna Channel before the lights go down.

The Spirit of the Löyly

In the ancient forest of Nuuksio, Marcello experiences the healing spirit of löyly with the help of sauna healer Laura. A quiet film about tradition, nature and what heat can do for a person.
