Therme Group: making wellbeing widely accessible, joyful, and part of city life.

Therme Group is the Theme Sponsor for Sauna & Health at ISC26.

“I’m excited by the ways in which we can consider and take inspiration from the precedent of the Roman Baths, where people from all parts of society met to look at art, listen to music, gossip, connect with themselves and others”, says Therme Group US’s president Robert Hammond about what the company expects from the Congress.

Therme Group is reimagining wellbeing.

As a global developer, owner and operator of large-scale wellbeing destinations, Therme is pioneering a new type of social infrastructure. Comparable in size to large public parks and stadiums, these new forms of wellbeing infrastructure are distinguished not only by their scale, but by experiential innovations designed to serve all, at attainable price points. In doing so, they help shape the future of cities seeking to make water, sauna, cultural programming, and diverse wellness experiences accessible to many.

Robert Hammond, President of Therme Group US

What's the most important thing happening in the development of sauna right now, and how does Therme Group fit into it?

The history of the sauna is long and geographically expansive. While it certainly never went away, new people are finding this tradition all around the world and connecting with it in new ways. I’m excited by the ways in which we can consider and take inspiration from the precedent of the Roman Baths, where people from all parts of society met to look at art, listen to music, gossip, connect with themselves and others. The ritual was a vital part of the everyday life of the city. There is an opportunity to reconnect with this history of public infrastructure: massive, shared spaces open to everyone. Therme Group rethinks how sauna and bathing can fit into everyday life of today’s cities.

Why did you decide to partner with ISC26, and what are you most looking forward to when coming to Oslo?

What we're most looking forward to in Oslo is the opportunity to connect with practitioners and operators from around the world. Norway sits at the heart of sauna heritage, and there's something powerful about gathering there to talk about where this centuries-old ritual goes next.

We're excited to talk about our vision of creating a world where wellbeing is more widely accessible, joyful, and an integral part of city life.

Additionally, we are looking forward to coming home with new ideas for how we build a community for people to gather and be together through heat, water, and shared ritual.
